March was a crazy month for the Black Gate Games team, we'd like to share what we've been up to.
First and foremost, we want to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to all of you who read our updates, here, on Twitter and Facebook and reach out to us with feedback and requests - we’ve taken them on board, as you will see below!
Our website doesn’t suck any more
We hated it, you hated it; ultimately, Platino.io was a train wreck. We’ve fixed it. Not only is there now a brand new website, but the store page has been updated, the blog cleaned up, and most importantly, we now have a section devoted entirely to resources that we will be regularly updating and improving. This includes new samples, tutorials, user submitted content and more. Got something to share? Let us know - we will add it with full credit and a link to you.
The forum is working
Some of our developers had issues signing up for the forum as they did not receive an activation email. This has now been resolved. Once again, we’d like to extend our thanks to the two developers who let us know about this issue earlier in the week.
An updated trial version
Are you using the trial version of Platino, or were you waiting to download it until it had full 64-bit support? The wait is over! You can get it from the store right now.
Peach Pellen’s Intel interview
Peach’s interview with Intel has been posted on our blog. There will be a longer, written interview coming later this month, to be mentioned in our next newsletter.
For those of you engaging with us on social media, asking about the Playboy interview, it will be online shortly.
After updating ALmixer to 64-bit (it’s available in the trial and full versions of Platino) we have added a new section to our API docs to help you make the most of all the features available for your audio, be it in Platino, or in a standard Titanium application.
The next release of Platino
We are very excited about the update to Platino, which we plan to roll out shortly. There are a number of bug fixes, but what we are most excited about is improved scaling and greatly enhanced touch events. You can see a quick preview here. (Keep in mind this video was made for internal use, so it’s just a simple demonstration - more to come soon!)
Finally, a reminder to previous buyers
If you previously bought a Platino license, you are still entitled to a full, free version! The instructions to do so can be found in this FAQ forum post.
